ACCA exam fees 2026 and 2027: what each exam costs

ACCA charges a one-off registration fee, an annual subscription, and a fee per exam entry that depends on the level and on whether you enter by the standard or the late deadline. Fees are set in pounds sterling and rise a little most years. The figures below are the ones published for the 2026 sessions by ACCA and the main tuition providers; ACCA's own fees page is the final word.

FeeStandard entryLate entry
Initial registration (one-off)£89
Annual subscriptionabout £140 a year
Applied Knowledge (BT, MA, FA), on demandabout £125 to £145, set by the exam centreno late entry: on demand
Applied Skills (LW, PM, TX, FR, AA, FM)about £173about £440
Strategic Professional: SBR and the options (AFM, APM, ATX, AAA)about £229about £475
Strategic Professional: SBLabout £295about £475
The late entry fee is roughly two and a half times the standard fee. The standard deadline is about five weeks before the exam week (dates here); missing it by a day costs more than most question banks do in a year.

What a full ACCA costs in exam fees

Thirteen exams at standard entry (three Applied Knowledge, six Applied Skills, four Strategic Professional) come to roughly £2,500 to £2,700 in exam fees alone, before resits, the subscription and any tuition. Exemptions for a relevant degree remove the Applied Knowledge and some Applied Skills fees but carry an exemption fee of their own.

Where the money actually goes

Resits are the hidden cost: ACCA pass rates for the Applied Skills papers run between about 40% and 55%, so a candidate who sits six Applied Skills exams typically pays for two or three resits. The cheapest fee you will ever pay is the one for an exam you pass first time, which is why question practice before the sitting matters more than any fee table.

Practice is free, the resit is not

Questions students ask

How much is an ACCA exam?

About £173 for an Applied Skills exam and £229 to £295 for Strategic Professional at standard entry in 2026; late entry is roughly £440 to £475. Applied Knowledge exams are priced by the exam centre, about £125 to £145.

Is the ACCA late entry fee refundable?

No. Exam fees are not refunded if you miss or withdraw from an exam after the deadline, so book by the standard deadline.

Do I pay the ACCA subscription in my first year?

ACCA waives the first annual subscription when you register too late in the year to sit at least three sessions; after that it is billed each January.
